Gnorbu are fun-loving Neopets who enjoy making others laugh. Despite its natural lack of agility, the Gnorbu's kind heart and good-natured outlook have succeeded in making it a very popular Neopet.
The Gnorbu resembles a llama with a lion's mane and a short neck and was the winner of the April Fools Neopet Contest 2005 and was released on January 6, 2006. It is based on the blue Llamameeah that was in the contest.
The new version has created controversy and dissatisfaction among Neopians who liked the characteristics of the Llamameeah that were removed in the Gnorbu or the addition of certain elements to the Gnorbu (e.g. the heavy mane) that were not present in the original Llamameeah design.
They are great jokers and are very social but dislike it when people do not pronounce the word "Gnorbu" correctly (pronounced NOR-boo).
As of June 2007, they were ranked 44th out of the 50+ species, with over 840,000 created. January 6th is Gnorbu Shearing Day (Gnorbu Day).
