The Grundo was a slave pet kept by the evil Dr. Sloth. After the great rebellion, Grundo was transformed into his original cute cuddly self.
They were released on August 24, 2000. In the early days of the site, they were originally said to have originated from a far away planet called "Doran"; however, this has been retconned and now Grundos are originally from Neopia's moon, Kreludor. An aspect they once possessed was that they could only speak in backwards English (i.e. "olleh" meant "hello"). Now they speak normally.
Grundos were first put up for adoption on October 24, 2000. But later they decided that this old Grundo looked too bulky and muscular for a cute little alien, and he was given a makeover on May 1, 2003. Below are some Grundos from before the transformation.
